Description: Opens with footage of the first Nant-Y-Gro demolition trial on a full size dam, preceded by shots of the contact charge being put in place from a rowing boat. Second test Friday 24 July 1942. At 2 mins 42 secs, Road Research Lab slow motion camera records demolition of small model (1/10th) of Nant-Y-Gro dam. At Building Research Station Garston (Watford), several items then show model dams equipped with fairly primitive monitoring equipment being subjected to explosive charges. Included are some shots of the researchers, plus a brief sequence showing a trial of a road surfacing device. At ca 9 mins, Barnes Wallis in open-neck shirt climbs embankment. Later panning shot of scientific observers may include Tizard (bushy eye-browed).
