Advanced Searches can be saved using the save this search function on the Search Results page. Previous searches can be accessed using the view your saved searches function on the Advanced Search page.
Dates - dates are searched and displayed in the format YYYY-MM-DD. Search Results can be sorted by date using the Sort By drop down menu options Date (A to Z) - earliest first or Date (Z to A) - most recent first. For many films the month and day are not known, so it is advisable to do an initial search by year only.
Film Reference Numbers - to search for a film reference number with less than three digits, for example IWM 5 please insert double quotes around the entire film reference number for the search “IWM 5” . To search for a film with a film reference number with more than two digits double quotes are not required, for example IWM 210.
