Title:LANCASTERS OF 463 AND 467 SQUADRONS DEPART ON A RAID [Allocated Title]
Film Number:ARY 36-2
Summary: Lancasters take off on an operation at twilight.
Description: Seen from the area of the Control van on the edge of the runway, Lancasters of both squadrons are seen to roll down the runway and take off, the setting sun in the background. The usual group of friends and well wishers wave the aircraft off. A gunner wearing a white smock and flying boots cleans the perspex of his rear turret. Seen from the front his aircraft (letter 'V') is refuelled by an AEC bowser. In better light a Lancaster has its tarpaulins removed and the engines are started. The rest of the reel contains similar material but is out of focus.
