Summary: A shortened version of the feature length CLOSE QUARTERS, shot inside a submarine, using "officers and men of His Majesty's submarines."
Description: (Reel 1) The entire action takes place inside a submarine, H.76, with the exception of the opening scenes in which Norwegian patriots escaping to Britain in an open boat are picked up. Routine submarine scenes, close quarters, cramped, keeping log, informal manner, desire for either action or a return home. Enemy ships sighted - a floating dock and her escort.
(Reel 2) The floating dock is successfully torpedoed. The submarine immediately dives, and takes avoiding action during the subsequent destroyer attacks.
(Reel 3) Procedures during depth charge attack. To avoid giving information, all personal papers are collected for destruction. Crew sleep to minimise use of air. After 2 hours silence submarine surfaces, heads for home.
