Description: I. Miscellaneous opening shot of a Seafire on the deck of an escort carrier.
II. Sequence taken onboard a Gabbiano Class corvette in harbour. Signal flashed from searchlight position on foremast. CUs of helmsman, lookout, Navigation Officer plotting a course, meal being taken on the bridge, Italian ensign fluttering in the wind. A member of gun crew caresses the thigh of a 'pin-up' girl painted on the shield of the 3.9/47 gun - the crew then load and train the gun. HA.MS from bridge onto the focsle as 3.9-inch and Breda 20mm AA are closed up and trained round to starboard, and then aft down the port side to two twin 20mm mountings.
III. At sea. Cameraship leaves port for convoy duties, passing the Spica Class torpedo boat Aretusa. Crew check twin 20mm AA and machine guns. Cameraship falls in with Pilo Class torpedo boat Giuseppe Cesare Abba (?), and a message is passed by loudhailer. Shots of convoy merchantmen. CU track from aft on the port side to the bridge as cameraship passes Aretusa underway - the torpedo boat then closes and overhauls the cameraship.
