Second War Categories page launched

For the past year, our film team has been busy making IWM's vast film collection more accessible and easier to navigate. 

Explore our Second World War categories 

IWM's film collection covers all aspects of conflicts in which British, Commonwealth or former Empire countries have been involved since the start of the twentieth century. The first instalment, the Second World War categories page, divides the collection thematically, as well as by key events. The page represents the core digitised material of the Second World War collection, rather than offering an exhaustive picture of the War. Larger sub-categories of the global nature of the conflict will be added at a later date.

The categories page will be be expanded to cover a wider range of twentieth century conflicts and social history themes within our collection. We have also begun work on First World War and Cold War categories and look forward to sharing these in due course.
