Description: An air force marching song accompanies the titles. Russian soldiers at the front spot enemy aircraft: anti-aircraft guns hurry into action, but cease firing as Soviet I-16 fighters arrive; an Me 110 is brought down. Its surrendering crew, "young in years but old in murder" is contrasted to the Russians who are "saving civilisation". Scenes of relaxation: dancing in a forest clearing etc. A veteran is telling young airmen the reasons for Soviet success: the fostering of airmindedness (children with model aircraft; youths work on aeroengine, parachute from Po-2 biplane) and experience (eg use of TB-3s in arctic exploration). Preparations for a bombing raid (aviation hero Gromov with crews); briefing, preparing ammunition, bombing up SB-3s; take-off. Film of bombing actions by SB-3, DB-3 and PE-2 aircraft intercut with film of army advance to suggest combined action. Closing close-ups of aircrew ("It isn't only the machines that make an air force, it's the men in the machines") and a cartoon: "Rendezvous over Berlin."
