Summary: Demonstration of river-crossing at Hungerford, Berkshire carried out by "A" and "B" Companies, 9th Battalion, Sherwood Foresters, "G" Troop, 76th Anti-tank Regiment, Royal Artillery and Royal Engineers of the 1st Armoured Division, 5th Corps. They demonstrate the crossing of a river by infantry and anti-tank guns to form a bridgehead behind which Royal Engineers will provide a crossing for Armoured Brigades. They use reconnaissance and assault boats, a Scissors bridge and box-girder bridge. A platoon from "C" Company, 9th Battalion Sherwood Foresters is dressed in German uniform to represent the enemy. This is a dress rehearsal for a demonstration to be carried out on the King's visit on 30 July.
