Summary: HRH El Amir Mansour Ben Saud of Saudi Arabia visits Egypt.
Description: His Highness (sixth son of Ibn Saud, King of Arabia), leaves his Royal Palace at Jeddah and is given a civic welcome at the quayside with a farewell speech. He leaves in the royal motor launch for the troopship. He is accompanied on the tour by Captain C B Barry, captain of the battleship HMS Queen Elizabeth; Captain P A Uniake of the Queen's Own Hussars; Captain L C Barry, captain of the troopship Princess Kathleen; Lieutenant D A E Holbrook, in charge of the guard supplied by HMS Queen Elizabeth; Second Lieutenant Mahmoud Diab, interpreter. Various scenes of Jeddah. HRH boards the Princess Kathleen and meets Petty Officer F Folwell of the escort party. Various shots of the party on board. The Arabian flag flies above the Canadian flag on the masthead.
On arrival at Suez, Vice Admiral Halifax, Flag Officer Red Sea and Colonel De Gaury come aboard to welcome HRH and the party then leave by launch for Navy Pier to be met by the Governor of Suez. HRH inspects the guard of honour. The royal car leaves for the Villa Doss. HRH visits King Farouk at his palace in Cairo then meets Prince Mohammed Ali at his palace. He is received by Nahas Pasha on the steps of the palace and shakes hands with Dr Midhat. He later visits the British Minister of State, Sir Walter Monckton, at his house near Mena. Here he meets Commandant Mrs Newall MTC.
