Description: 23-24 Mar. 1942. The flotilla makes its way to shore at Irvine Harbour, Ayrshire, Scotland during landing exercises. Troops land on the beach from the landing craft and take up their positions. Night shots of flares and tracers.
26 Mar. 1942. A motorboat comes alongside HMS Princess Beatrix with Lord Louis Mountbatten, the CCO. He is piped aboard and met by the Captain, Commander Brunton. He inspects the naval officers and ratings. Mountbatten is followed by Brigadier Laycock, Lieutenant-Colonel Glendinning, Captain Maxwell-Hislop, Major Trevor and Major Smallman. He inspects the officers and men of No 1 Commando.
