Description: Churchill arrives at Burg el Arab aerodrome and motors forward with General Claude Auchinleck. He meets various South Africans. He visits the 9th Australian Division in the Alamein Box where he meets Lieutenant-General Morshead. He inspects a 4.5-inch gun manned by a crew from the 27th Medium Regiment, Royal Artillery. He inspects parades representing all units of the South African forces and also the Australian 9th Division. Churchill then attends a conference at the HQ of the 8th Army with General Auchinleck, and meets staff. Also present are Lieutenant-General Ramsden, Lieutenant-General Alan Brooke, Major General Dorman-Smith, Lieutenant-General Gott and Air Marshal Tedder.
