Summary: The Allied occupation of Derna, Libya, during the Western Desert campaign.
Description: Destroyed aircraft at Derna aerodrome. An Italian nun nursing wounded British soldiers at a local hospital. She is accompanied by Sergeant King, who is also wounded. South African wounded soldiers. The Sisters of Mercy nurses and a padre walk with patients in the hospital garden. British officers walk into Derna and go to the town hall. An improvised Union Jack is made from a handkerchief and flown from a pole outside the building, to the cheers of locals. Sergeant King and Rifleman White leave the hospital and set out for Derna pass to meet the war correspondents.
