Description: I. AYY 243/1. 13 June. The Duke's plane lands at Delhi airport and he is received by the Viceroy, General Archibald Wavell. He shakes hands with General Wavell and also with Sir Richard Peirse and Vice Admiral Sir Herbert Fitzherbert. General Wavell adjusts a civilian's tie. They get into cars and are driven off. The Duke watches a display of parachute jumping by Indian troops with General Alexander. There are two Chinese generals present.
II. 14 June. The Duke with the Viceroy, General Wavell, takes a march past of Allied troops. These include Chinese from the Burma front and Dutch soldiers in British uniforms.
III. AYY 243/2. The Duke arrives at Hyderabad aerodrome and is met by the Resident Sir Claude Gidney who presents him to the Nizam of Hyderabad and his two General sons.
