AYY 255/5. 3 September. Members of the Rifle Brigade go forward in Bren carrier; Honey and Grant tanks move into position. Boston aircraft attack the enemy, burning German tanks are visible. Brigadier Thompson of Nigeria chats to an American, Captain Bellamy. Brigadier Roberts directs operations from his tank. Roberts, General Montgomery and General Gatehouse at 22nd Brigade Battle HQ. They climb into the Brigadier's tank to survey the battleground. Montgomery addresses senior officers of the 22nd Armoured Brigade and congratulates them. Burning German tanks and a corpse.
