Description: I. 26 December. The 1st Battalion Parachute Regiment by the railway viaduct with an iron bridge over a stream. Two paratroops and a French sentry on the bridge. They examine the papers of an Arab on a white horse and also of British soldiers in a French car. Paratroops digging slit trenches and showing Christmas goose in the bushes. Straw huts made by the paratroops in a small copse. Occupants of the huts. Arabs pass with donkeys on the iron bridge. The 1st Battalion moves up to the front line. The 2nd Battalion cleaning up on a farm after action at Medjez El Bab on Christmas Day. Lieutenant Brayley and Sergeant Huntley on the farm. Feet wading through mud. Troops washing their boots and feet. Major Ashford and Lieutenant Brayley. A captured Italian three-wheeled motorcycle and a paratroop patrol going off at dusk.
II. 27 December. Bren gun posts are set up for the parade. Inspection by the Adjutant and the Second-in-Command. The first group of Bren gunners, left to right are: Private Lloyd, Corporal Sanders, Private Harrison and Private Risely. Also present are the Adjutant Captain Bennett, the Second-in-Command Major Hill Walker and the Battalion Commander Lieutenant-Colonel A A Crook. Major-General Evelegh is accompanied by Brigadier E E Eden Cass, commanding the 11th Infantry Brigade, 78th Division.
