Description: Adamu Ibrahim Sokoto farming with another man. He looks up. Adamu watches troops approaching and marches up and down with his hoe. He declares his intention to be a soldier. He is now a Barracki Boy, he washes clothes with his friends. He hangs up the clothes; troops on bayonet drill are visible behind him. Volunteers line up at a table, an officer takes a man's thumb print. Adamu walks up and swears on the Koran. His thumb print is taken. He is followed by another recruit. Adamu enters the Medical Inspection room. He comes out looking pleased. He receives his kit at the Quarter Master's stores. A corporal drills Adamu with the other new recruits. He is drilled with more advanced recruits. The squad marches up, Adamu is central in the picture. The squad right turns. Adamu receiving instruction on the Bren gun and the Boys anti-tank rifle.
