Description: 15 February. Number 2 Section, Number 7 Platoon, under the instruction of Czech officer First Lieutenant Odehnal. The section waits behind a bank whilst section leader (Company Sergeant Major Willard of the 2nd Hertfordshire Regiment) plans his advance. He gives his orders. The section advances through gorse bushes. The section in the final position before making the assault. A discussion is held about the plan. First Lieutenant Odehnal makes his comments. The section crawling to a position in a copse. The section crawling from cover to advance over open ground.
16 February. The platoons of Number 4 Section double to the training area. The men negotiate a double apron fence by crawling under it after throwing over all equipment except their rifles. Two men form a tunnel, supporting the wire on their backs and stand with their feet apart while the rest of the section crawls between their legs. A gate crossing as the men slide onto their stomachs to make a small a target as possible. Various sections complete an obstacle course consisting of barbed wire, a tubular scaffold and crossing a stream. Men climbing a sandbag wall and dropping onto a steep bank. Men crossing the river and scrambling out. A section plunging through a deep ditch. Men coming through barbed wire. The section advances across an area pitted with craters and is met by a charge of explosives.
17 February. Men on Leadership Course II coming through gorse bushes and wire at the start of the course. Men bayoneting straw dummies. A section advancing on the dummies. A section leaping into a tank trap. Men climbing out of the tank trap. A section advancing through a sand quarry. Men assemble on top of the quarry before moving to the next obstacle. A charge of explosive goes up as men advance on the last obstacle. An explosion in a ditch as the section approaches.
