Description: I13 November and 14 November. A 6.2-inch gun used in action against the Royal Navy on the night of the 8 November. The French flag flying at the entrance to Fort Duperré near Algiers. A sentry on duty. A tracked charging plant being unloaded at Algiers docks from the troopship «Ocean Veteran» by 1013 Docks Operating Company, Royal Engineers. It is raised from the hold and lowered to the quay. The winch driver lowers the grab into the hold for another vehicle. A Whippet tank being raised from the hold of «Ocean Veteran» and lowered onto the quay. A tank, lorry and tank recovery vehicles in a park at the side of «Ocean Veteran». Valentine tanks of the 17th/21st Lancers are in the foreground. Tank crew carrying out maintenance tasks on a Valentine. A tank recovery vehicle arrives in the car park. A loaded Royal Army Service Corps vehicle leaves for the food dump. A tank crew cleaning the Valentine. A loaded lorry leaving the dockside. 14 November. Three hundred Italian prisoners captured by the Americans on the night of 8 November are taken from the Hotel d'Angleterre to the docks for transfer to an overseas camp. The men leave the hotel in lorries, watched by a crowd of French Algerians. Some give the V sign. They pass the Hotel Alletti where a boisterous crowd hiss and boo, some calling "Down with the Macaronis!"
A band from the Senegalese troops (in the Free French Army ?) play the Marseillaise followed by the American "Over There" which is received by clapping and cheering by local crowds. High ranking officers from the Air Force and Navy climbing into lorries with their kits.
