- Description: Generals Alexander and Montgomery await Churchill's arrival at Castel Benito aerodrome. The Liberator taxies across the aerodrome. Churchill, in the uniform of Air Commodore, is greeted by Montgomery. A crowd gathers around the plane. Close-up of the name "Commando" on the side of the Liberator. Churchill and Montgomery at Montgomery's camp. The Prime Minister leaves his caravan and walks across to the mess. A crowd waits for Churchill to address them. Close up of Prince Peter of Greece. Churchill walks from the camp to the natural arena where he addresses the whole of the Eighth Army HQ staff. The senior staff officers are introduced to Churchill. He goes onto the platform to make his speech. The audience applauds after the address and gives three cheers. Churchill and Montgomery arrive in an open car and are greeted by the Corps Commander, General Sir Oliver Leese, who introduces the senior officers of the 7th Armoured Division to the Prime Minister. After this Churchill and Montgomery drive off to inspect the Highland Division. After the inspection Churchill drives past the saluting base and through the town. The main street is lined with tanks, anti-tank guns and troops. He then returns to the saluting base ready for the march past. Churchill at the saluting base with General Montgomery, General Alexander and General Sir Alan Brooke. Sections of the Eighth Army including guns and infantry march past to the music of the bagpipes. The plane arriving. Churchill is escorted to his car and driven off. General Alexander walks to the car and drives off. Churchill shakes hands with senior officers. He speaks to Montgomery and staff sitting by the side of the platform. View of the crowd. Churchill travels up the main street and views the Highland Division. On his return to the square he is cheered. From the saluting base he watches a march past of 25 pounders, and 6 pounders and a pipe band.
