Summary: Tanks and guns of the Eighth Army move up into position in front of the Mareth Line along the road to Médenine. Vehicles arrive at Tripoli Harbour in preparation for the battle.
Description: 11 March. A tank being taken to the forward area on a tank transporter. 6 pounder anti-tank guns and the new 17 pounders travelling along the road to Médenine.
8 March. A convoy of merchant ships assembled in Tripoli Harbour. A new Valentine tank being unloaded from the merchant ship «Malayan Prince». The lighter bringing Crusader tanks coming alongside the quay. The first Crusader tank being driven off the lighter. The Crusader tanks and their crews forming up and manoeuvring to position before coming off the lighter. A Crusader tank being driven off the lighter. A line of tanks being driven along the quayside. On the leading tank is Colonel J D Murray, commanding the Tank Reorganisation Group, and Major G Fox. The Crusader tanks leave the quayside. Crusader tanks, Priest vehicles and heavy and light armoured cars proceeding to the Tank Reorganisation Group and Tank Delivery Regiment dispersal area. A long line of Armoured Fighting Vehicles entering the dispersal area. The tanks and armour are inspected by Colonel J D Murray and Lieutenant-Colonel Gibbs, commanding the Tank Delivery Regiment. They order a 6 pounder gun to be elevated on a Crusader tank. A squadron of new armoured cars leaves for the front at Ben Gardane. A sign reading Way Out Only. Armoured cars advancing along the road.
