III. "How 8th Army spent Xmas." Item emphasises the supply aspect of the 8th Army's progress, showing seemingly endless lines of trucks near Mussolini's monumental "Marble Arch" (marking border between Cyrenaica and Tripolitania) and the unloading of aviation spirit from a transport plane at an advance air base. Piles of Christmas mail have reached the soldiers on time. The men themselves are seen enjoying their Christmas dinner in the shade of ruined buildings, then going for a dip in the sea.
IV. "British Mission sees China at War." Parliamentary mission watches parade by Chiang Kai-Shek's modernised army then sees it in action on the upper reaches of the Yellow River. Air Force is now well-equipped with Vanguards and manned by "keen pilots" (view of Air Force Training School pupils). Bomb-proof hillside factories house the cotton and wool industries.
