Description: (Reel 1) Blue Streak is launched, monitored by radar. The building of the rocket in England is shown: casings are constructed, and the rocket motors are put into place. A crane puts the half finished rocket onto a lorry, where it is driven through Manchester. Cut to the launch site at Woomera, Australia, where lift-off is seen again, then back to Britain, where other component parts of the rocket are driven through the streets (packed in a box marked HAWKER SIDDELEY DYNAMICS SPACE PROJECTS DIVISION - BLUE STREAK - STEVENAGE TO WOOMERA AUSTRALIA) then loaded onto a ship by a floating crane. Later, at Woomera, another lorry delivers the rocket parts. Houses and amenities (church, shops, football pitch) near Woomera are shown. Preparation at the launch site: lorry arrives, cameras are checked, personnel board bus and plane to get to the site. (Reel 2) VIPs arrive in RAAF aircraft as final checks on the rocket motors are carried out. Ground control. The rocket is finally prepared for take-off. More last-minute checks, then launch. The rocket flies off, monitored by radar. Rousing music swells as she streaks past the moon.
