  • Description: I. Members of the QCS practice being a bearer party on funeral duties inside a hangar at RAF Northolt. (i) Party marches slowly towards BAe 146-100 airliner. Practice coffin is removed from hold and borne away in a dignified manner; second party carries RAF caps. (this sequence is silent). (ii) Second sequence from side angle; instructor gives directions to bearer party. (iii) Sequence showing RAF caps being brought down from the cabin of the aircraft and given to members of the bearer party. (iv) Bearer party carries coffin and lays it on trestles. Wreathbearer (carrying a red dustbin lid in lieu of a wreath) follows; the "wreath" is laid on top of the coffin. (8 mins 23 secs total) II. The Queen's Colour Squadron receives the freedom of High Wycombe: march through town centre, where Hercules aircraft flies past and Lord Mayor inspects the Squadron. Plaque is presented; the Squadron marches past Mayor on podium, followed by RAF band. (5 mins) III. The Lord Mayor of Westminster, Councillor Harvey Marshall, and his wife visit RAF Uxbridge, where they watch a parade by the QCS and inspect weapons. (2 mins 15 secs) IV. Members of the QCS, in association with Yeoman Warders from the Tower of London, recreate (on stage at the Haus des Burgers in Ramstein Germany) the Ceremony of the Keys, held nightly at the Tower of London; dramatised with commentary from Yeoman Warder wearing red watch coat. Salute as RAF Ensign is lowered beside the stage. (This is part of a reception to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II.) (10 mins 53 secs) V. Members of QCS arrive at the Air Forces Memorial at Runnymede, lining the pathway as veterans and their families arrive for ceremony. Wreathlaying ceremony at shrine in the memorial's cloister: Chaplain reads the Noel Coward poem "Lie in the Dark and Listen" before veterans lay their wreaths. (8 mins 36 secs) VII.
