Summary: Shunter Joe Black heroically puts out a burning explosives truck. "Based on a true story."
Description: Joe Black, (whose job in a railway marshalling yard is to brake free-wheeling trucks) returns to the yard on his night off having seen flames after it has been bombed: he finds two of his colleagues with a stirrup pump attempting to stop the fire in a blazing load of wheat from spreading to the next truck, a load of explosives. Black goes to fetch an engine to pull the trucks apart: on his return the explosives truck has just began to burn. Black rides the truck while the engine pulls it to a trackside water pump, which (unlike the yard's fire fighting water supply) has escaped damage, and there puts the fire out. The next day he is seen back at normal work.
