Summary: British rough material of the Battle of Amiens, Western Front, 23rd August 1918.
Description: I. A battery of Field Artillery in medium shot moving rapidly across country, followed by a close-up of the last two guns passing a small hut at the trot. A stationary Medium A Whippet tank (B37, possibly of 6th Battalion, the Tank Corps) with all its hatches open and two of the crew firing Hotchkiss machine guns into the air (at German aircraft ?). Soldiers in combat gear, possibly 13th Battalion, Royal Fusiliers of 37th Division near Grévillers, posed in a group shot, then resting and eating. A Field Artillery park near Bapaume with bell tents and horse lines. A railway cutting near Achiet-le-Grand, captured by 13th Royal Fusiliers on 21st August. Men digging beside the wreck of a munitions wagon with its dead horses still in harness. Two dead Germans, one as if killed in the act of throwing the stick grenade still in his hand, the other next to an anti-tank rifle (both probably posed while dead).
II. Attached to this is a brief scene of a Canadian corporal buying a War Bond from an officer seated at a table in the open air.
