Summary: Landing troops from LCI(S) 507.
Description: LCI(S) 507 weighs anchor and gets underway. The landing beach is shrouded in smoke, and simulated shellfire explodes about the approaching craft. A soldier fires a 2 in mortar from onboard. On beaching, the brow ramps are lowered and troops disembark, followed by mortar handcarts. The troops advance to the line of the dunes, where they take up positions to wait for support. This apparently marks the end of the exercise, as subsequent shots show men and mortar equipment being re-embarked. The ramps are recovered, and the LCI(S) makes away. Despite the smoke and shell fire, this exercise is not very realistic - the action seems unhurried, the presence of naval cameramen is very evident, and as the troops re-embark, a small drifter passes left to right, just offshore from the 'battlefield'.
