Description: David Falcke, head of the MPC, describes how the MPC was set up after the 1991 Gulf War to feed local television and press with positive stories about British soldiers on exercises overseas. Centrally based, it gathers material (still and video images etc) from MNT or media production teams in theatre, or Territorial Army production teams on exercises. Raw background data is put onto a "Home Town Story Form", which is processed into news stories at HQ Land Command. Discussion of the use of still photographs (taken usually by the Royal Logistic Corps). Sorting of stories by region.
