- Summary: An edition of the British official newsreel "War Pictorial News", produced by the Ministry of Information, Middle East.
- Description: I. 'SKI TROOPS IN MIDDLE EAST.' British ski troops in snow camouflage train in the Lebanese mountains. British troops receive instruction in the rudiments of skiing including how to turn and walk. More experienced ski troops wearing rucksacks ski over rough terrain and practice small jumps over obstacles. Ski-troops move at speed across rough terrain armed with Lee-Enfield Mk III .303-in rifles and a Bren .303-in light machine gun. II. 'NEWS FROM ENGLAND.' An item introducing the 1943 England versus Wales Football International held at Wembley Stadium in Middlesex. The stadium fills with expectant spectators as the opposing teams walk on to the pitch. Both teams are introduced to King George VI. Captains Hapgood and Turner toss a coin at the start of the match. The commentary introduces highlights from the close-fought contest which was eventually won by England. III. 'WINGS FOR VICTORY. The opening of the Royal Air Force (RAF) Wings For Victory fund raising campaign held at Trafalgar Square in London. Civilian crowds look on as the Lord Mayor of London opens the proceedings. A parked Avro Lancaster bomber provides an interesting backdrop and static display to the fund raising drive. Stock shot footage shows a Lancaster taking off from an undisclosed location with the caption £40,000 superimposed indicating the cost of manufacturing aircraft such as this. The process is repeated with a Spitfire fighter aircraft costing £5,000 to build. As an added attraction, the popular entertainer Tommy Trinder and partner dance in Leicester Square. Stock shot footage shows a Short Sunderland flying boat of RAF Coastal Command with the caption £50,000 indicating manufacturing cost. The Lord Mayor of London presides over a march past which includes contingents from the RAF, Women's Auxiliary Air Force (WAAF), Royal Marines, Merchant Navy, Auxiliary Territorial Service (ATS) and Paratroopers wearing Denison smocks.
