Summary: Scenes in Basra, Iraq, with the Irish Guards and the Royal Engineers.
Description: I. Display of captured Iraqi weapons on the grass outside building in Basra being used as barracks. General views of the area with parked armour and flag saying "Number Two Company Irish Guards" above the door. Members of the Royal Engineers display defused IEDs (inprovised explosive devices). Interview with Lieutenant-Colonel Charlie Knaggs (Irish Guards) about recent fighting and the current levels of threat. Captain Richie Williams (Royal Engineers) describes one of the IEDs.
II. General views of the area around the nearby Shatt al-Arab where statues (erected after the Iran-Iraq War) point accusing fingers across the water at Iran on the opposite bank. Soldiers on patrol search a church. Royal Engineers recover Iraqi arms which have been dumped on the shore of the Shatt al-Arab; Corporal Bishop discusses the weapons find and how it is being rendered safe. Interview with Captain Mick Garraway, second-in-command of the Irish Guards in front of their new barracks (which was originally owned by one of Saddam's cousins).
III. Wreck of Iraqi tank is loaded onto a tank transporter and is driven away: children watch, and cheer for the camera.
