  • Description: START 20:00:30 Sergeant Evans discusses the task with the Chinook's loadmaster; they inspect the pylon. He describes the funnel-like guide plates that have been built on the bases to guide the legs into place. (Sergeant Evans has his face covered in anticipation of the downdraft from the helicopter. 20:04:42 Chinook lifts off and flies into position over the pylon, catching the metal chains that have been bolted into position. The pylon is lifted partway and then set down again. 20:08:58 The team regroups on the ground and discuss the final attempt; a leg of the pylon has buckled slightly and needs to be repaired. Iraqi engineers set to work strengthening the leg. 20:11:13 Sergeant Evans discusses the problem. 20:12:59 Sergeant Evans talks to the pilots about the strategy for lifting the pylon into place. 20:14:45 Interview with Sapper Mark Edwards, one of the team, responsible for the pylon bases and their guide plates. 20:17:26 Interview with Sapper David Hickman about the project and the difficulties in setting things up.
