  • Description: START 21:00:30 Chinook helicopter takes off on the latest attempt to raise the pylon. 21:05:37 Soldiers gather at the base of the pylon ready to work as ropemen. 21:06:46 Helicopter flies overhead with pylon underneath. Discussion as to how to manoeuvre the pylon into place. Pylon swings overhead; ropemen get into position and attempt the manoeuvre. Sergeant Evans shots orders. The attempt is ultimately unsuccessful and the pylon swings slightly away. 21:13:20 Underside of Chinook helicopter, with hook and loadmaster looking down. 21:13:44 Second attempt; ropemen get into place and the helicopter and pylon are marshalled back into position. Eventually the legs slip into place and are bolted in place by soldiers and Iraqi workmen. The chain is released by the Chinook's loadmaster and the helicopter flies away and lands. 21:19:15 Interview with Sergeant Evans about the success of the attempt. 21:20:58 Interview with Squadron Leader Simon Patterson (the Chinook pilot) about the difficulties of the mission. 21:22:16 Interview with engineer Saleh Bakir (in English.) 21:22:06 Interview with unnamed RAF Sergeant, the loadmaster on the Chinook helicopter.
