Summary: A Beaufort is equipped for and demonstrates fire-bombing using the 'Aeroflame' container.
Description: Initially the Beaufort flies low over the airfield. The pipe nozzles are clearly visible. The method of loading the fuel cylinder into the bomb bay is then shown in various levels of detail. The Beaufort, (followed by a Boston) flies low over the demonstration area and lays a continuous 'spray' of ignited fuel. The burning ground and vegetation is then recorded in close up.

Notes: Summary: An unexpected piece of film and useful as another example of petroleum-based weaponry. Although not in view the serial number of the aircraft used is EK997. These tests were undertaken by the Aircraft & Armament Experimental Establishment, Boscombe Down and their report is numbered AAEE/CTO/AM.48/20. Compare with the smoke-laying Blenheims shown in ARY 1/3.
