Summary: Twenty camera-gun sequences filmed in colour of fighter attacks on enemy planes and shipping.
Description: Sequences include film of low level attacks on coastal shipping, aerial combat above the sea, a blazing ship lying offshore and an attack on a naval vessel taking evasive action. Precise identification is difficult on account of the variable quality of the colour film but planes identified include a Lightning (17) and Aichi dive-bomber (17) as well as two Grumman Wildcats (19). Sequence 13 is filmed at night from an aircraft carrier and shows a twin-engined, single fin medium bomber (probably a USN Marauder) with one engine ablaze attempting to land on deck. The plane crashes into the sea in a large ball of fire and blazing oil lights up the surrounding area revealing other vessels in the area.
