Description: Winston Churchill visits troops in the Western Desert accompanied by General Sir Alan Brooke; General Alexander, Commander-in-Chief of the Middle East Forces; Lieutenant-General Montgomery, Eighth Army Commander; Lieutenant-General Horrocks, XIII Corps Commander and Lieutenant-General Freyberg, Commander of the New Zealand Division. The Prime Minister visits representatives of the 7th Armoured Division and is greeted by Major-General Renton. He inspects the troops and a New Zealand cemetery before having lunch at XIII Corps HQ and making a recording for the BBC. He then returns to Eighth Army HQ and changes into a light grey suit. He inspects the staff officers of the Eighth Army with General Alexander.
