Summary: A contingent of 24 servicewomen joins 21st Army Group.
Description: Shortly after their arrival at a camp outside Bayeux at Vaucelles, Auxiliary and Territorial Service personnel, carrying kitbags, washing tubs, mattresses, etc. are allocated accommodation two to a tent and are seen assembling a bedstead. An ATS girl unpacks her kitbag, puts on a pair of walking shoes and later tries out her pair of regulation woollen socks and wellington boots. Servicewomen take up the first of their clerical duties out in the open. Stockings and handkerchiefs (?) are left out to dry on tent guy ropes. An ATS girl pours water into a mess tin prior to making tea over a 'Tommy' cooker.
