Summary: Sergeant I Neill of the Royal Irish Regiment gives a detailed three-part lecture to soldiers explaining what to look out for when undergoing searches and on patrol in Northern Ireland; he is assisted by another soldier pretending to be a terrorist (complete with balaclava) who demonstrates some of the terrorist weapons (including home-made). After a video clip (with French subtitles) showing actual terrorists training in the field, the lecture takes on a three-part structure. The first part covers procedure for body searches and vehicle searches (including the setting up of a VCP (vehicle checkpoint); some of the home-made timers, guns and bombs used by terrorists are shown. The second part discusses booby traps, including the concealment of bombs in items such as baseball bats; nail bombs and grenades made from coffee jars are also among the items displayed. Part three covers larger bombs, anti-vehicle devices, grenade launchers and the various "marks" of home-made mortar.
