Summary: Lengthy unedited sequences scenes with live sound from the Territorial Army exercise Dragon's Harp VI.
Description: I. (Tape 1) Troops arrive at night at Magilligan Training Centre. Inside, after tea and sandwiches, they are given detailed briefings with slides, including safety briefings and details of the main exercise, "Operation Spycatcher" (the apprehension of terrorist suspects).
II. The next day, further briefings (instructions for a rummage search). Exercises on ranges are shown, including assistance at a rural road traffic accident, long shots of soldiers apprehending a suspect after a gunfight and soldiers using metal detectors to scour a village (made of wooden cut-outs) on the search route. Other scenes include shooting practice on a range.
III. (Tape 2) General views of the control room: paperwork being filled in, maps on wall, ambulance crew visiting, small-scale briefing.
IV. Scenes of the movement of troops and equipment (small trucks) in the field using a Wessex helicopter; final shot of a Wessex in the field partly concealed by undulations in the landscape.
