Summary: Unedited film of George Younger MP, Secretary of State for Defence, arriving at a snow covered Minden barracks in a Ford Granada accompanied by an officer of the Royal Irish Rangers and an officer of the Royal Anglians. Younger is introduced to a Challenger tank crew from the 9th/12th Royal Lancers and is shown the inside of the tank. He is shown a Lynx attack helicopter and talks with an officer from the Army Air Corps. Soldiers of the Royal Anglians demonstrate the Milan anti-tank weapon and Younger tries the weapon for himself. He is then shown an FV432 armoured personnel carrier and chats with its crew. He is then shown other equipment and fires a General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) on a range. Interview with Younger discussing his first visit to British forces in West Germany since his appointment as Secretary of State, and discussing the state of training and equipment. He is then given the opportunity to drive a Scimitar reconnaissance tank.
