Description: I. Commandos sleep in unfinished buildings; outside, they shave and clean their teeth. Open air briefing to small group of three soldiers about handover of airfield. Troops march across country in full pack. Shots of derelict airfield (Sirsenk ?) taken from moving Land Rover. Camera crew with correspondent Kate Adie setting up in village. Marines pose for the camera, and are also seen on guard and on patrol. (6 May 1991 ?)
II. Interview with Lieutenant Colonel Thompson, in charge of 45 Commando; in the background is one of Saddam Hussein's palaces, currently occupied by members of the Revolutionary Guard. He discusses how members of 45 Commando and the US Marine Corps have been setting up a safe haven for Kurds in the valley nearby, and the problems of resettling them (Saddam Hussein's forces had flattened all the Kurdish villages in the area).
