Description: Scenes on board Chinook helicopter: Major Chris Wright of the MERT describes (to camera) the operational role of the team. Close-ups of equipment. MERT members in tent wait for the next emergency call, then prepare thei kit on the helicopter. They are joined before take-off by members of the Rifles, as part of the Quick Reaction Force. The helicopter flies out to pick up a casualty (an American soldier with crush injuries). He is treated on board as the Chinook flies back to Camp Bastion where an ambulance is waiting. Kit is repacked and debriefing takes place. Visit of Air Commodore Randle to the MERT.
