Summary: Members of B Company, 1st Battalion the Rifles, on patrol during Operation Kapcha Alaman in the Garmsir area: direct continuation of previous tape. (Note that there is no sound on this tape, and some minor pixellation in the latter half.)
Description: IEDD (improvised explosives device disposal) team prepare the improvised explosive device (see previous tape) for its disposal at the roadside. The team take shelter behind Snatch Land Rover as the device is detonated under a cloud of dust. A further "Operation Barma" drill is carried out - a search for mines and improvised explosive devices using both hands and mine detectors. Shaky shots of the canal alongside the road. Sniper position is set up next to a weir on the canal. Shaky shots of the canal: a controlled explosion is set off on the far bank (another IED). Soldiers run along canalside. Further patrol shots: soldiers talk to local men about damage to a building, possibly caused by the premature detonation of an insurgent's bomb. Patrol continues; snipers keep watch. A jet fighter flies overhead. Patrol returns to Patrol Base Assan Abbad near Garmsir. OC of B Company talks to camera (no sound).
