Summary: Two sequences in and around Camp Bastion, Afghanistan.
Description: "The Longest Walk": members of the Joint Force EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) Group, wearing a full protective "bomb suit", carry out a charity walk at Camp Bastion. The walk is in memory of their colleague, Warrant Officer 2 Gary "Gaz" O'Donnell of 11 Explosive Ordnance Disposal Regiment Royal Logistic Corps, who was killed by an improvised explosive device on 10 September 2008. Major Wayne Davidson, Officer Commanding the Joint Force EOD Group, is interviewed.
Lieutenant Chris Bennett of 847 Naval Air Squadron speaks to camera prior to providing "top cover" support in his Lynx helicopter to a Chinook flying an underslung load to Lashkar Gah. (Extended poor quality shot on board the Lynx as it powers up and takes off.) Scenes in flight: aerial views of Camp Bastion and the desert (including main highway); the Chinook flies just below the Lynx. Views over Lashkar Gah and on the flight back to Camp Bastion where the Lynx lands. Views of Apache helicopter landing and taxiing. Lynx taxies to a halt.
