  • Description: In a forest in the snow-covered Preševo Valley, X Company 45 Commando and Combat Engineers from the US Army's 1st Armored Division ("Old Ironsides") carry out a border patrol. In a makeshift observation post (a basic tented shelter), Marines keep watch. Patrol continues across country. Royal Marines officers and officer from 1st Armoured consult a map. Marines walk along snow-covered forest tracks. Brief interviews with two members of 1 Troop, X Company, Marine Fairclough and Marine Murphy, and with the Commander of X Company Major David Wilson. Royal Marines BV-206 tracked vehicles move through the valley over a hill and down towards houses. Scenes in the village of Zhegra show scenes of the former conflict (bullet holes in the side of a house, various bombed buildings). Children watch the patrol passing and pose for a photograph for one of the Marines before following the patrollers.
