The seadrome also features a parking strip attached to the main “sock” by seven bridges which act as taxiways.
Description: Aerial views of the seadrome with its main runway, parking strip and bridges. Scenes on board the open runway: two aircraft – a Curtiss SOC Seagull biplane and a North American SNJ-3 Texan – are seen landing, followed by a third aircraft labelled “Commander Torpedo Training”. Also shown are trials in the operation of an eighteen-plane Squadron and an aircraft carrier sized group comprising nine Grumman Avengers and twenty-four Grumman Hellcats. Aircraft land on one by one, fold their wings and taxi to the parking strip.
