Summary: Flotation trials of a Bray tractor loader with bucket, using sponsons.
Description: Cluster of vehicles (including a mobile crane and a DUKW) surround the tractor. Two sealed boat-like sponsons are prepared. Metals strut are attached to either side of the tractor and the sponsons are attached to these. Crane is used to lift two outboard motors; one is attached to each of the sponsons. Fully prepared, the tractor drives into the water where it is kept afloat by the sponsons and propelled by the outboard motors. Surf tests. Close-ups of the tractor and sponsons. At the end of the trial the outboard motors are removed and placed into transport boxes, the sponsons are craned out of the way and the struts are removed. The sponsons are placed onto lorries.
