Summary: Amphibious operations in a sheltered cove, with shingle beach, on the Devon coast.
Description: (Reel 1) A ramped powered lighter (a Royal Corps of Transport landing craft), RPL05, comes ashore on the shingle beach and disembarks Ferret armoured cars. Amphibious Stalwart vehicles drive ashore, watched by army personnel: one briefly becomes stuck on a steep part of the beach. A Landing Craft Mechanised (Mark 9) (L704) disembarks a bridgelayer tank. Also coming ashore is a powered Mexeflote platform carrying Chieftain tanks; after the tanks have disembarked, the Mexeflote departs to pick up more armour from an off-screen Landing Platform Dock. Later, various vehicles (tank, FV432, Stalwart) embark onto LCM(9).
(Reel 2) Scenes below deck on board a Landing Platform, Dock. Tanks, Land Rovers, 3-ton lorries and other vehicles manoeuvre onto the deck of a Landing Craft Mechanised (Mark 9) which is stationed in the on-board deck area.
