Summary: The Round Table Class LSL (Landing Ship Logistics) RFA Sir Tristram (L3505) undergoes loading trials.
Description: Army Scout helicopter lands on the heli-deck of Sir Tristram; its blades are folded away and it is lowered by crane into the hold. A Sioux helicopter is also craned into the hold and moved into storage, before being dragged (manually) up the ramp back onto the heli-deck. Scout is seen taking off, and a Royal Navy Whirlwind lands on.
A small Landing Craft Vehicle (Personnel) - LCV(P) - is moved by crane onto Sir Tristram's deck, and then back into the water again. Camera viewpoint is on deck: viewpoint over the side as commandos climb down scramble netting into the LCV(P). Viewpoint cuts to below deck where commandos (fully kitted out) exit a cabin and make their way along a corridor to go onto deck. Once on deck, they also scramble down the netting. Views of the commandos from both the LCV(P) and from on board Sir Tristram. On beach, the exit from the LCV(P) before re-embarking.
Brief view of Marchwood. Mexeflote at sea, laden with vehicles; the raft approaches Sir Tristram whose stern ramp is lowered (view from above). Scenes below deck as vehicles are moved and also driven onto a Ramped Powered Lighter (RPL): the Mexeflote is used as a platform linking the LSL with the RPL. Commandos cling to a scramble net as it is lowered by crane to LCV(P).
