Summary: Various trials showing tractive pulls by beach recovery vehicles, in which the various vehicles - beach armoured recovery vehicle (BARV), Centurion armoured recovery vehicle (ARV), Vickers Vigor tractor and DUKW - tow each other along the beach in various combinations. Description: (B&W) BARV pulls ARV across the sand.
(Colour) Vigor pulls a BARV; various combinations of vehicles (including DUKWs) undergo trials. Wading trials (also carrying out tractive pulls) with the vehicles mentioned above; Saracen armoured car and a truck are also pulled. The wading trials involve men in wetsuits connecting the towing cables.
(Colour) Trials dated 26 October involving BARV and ARV vehicles, which take place on clay soil (with FV432) and also in mud (with Vickers Vigor). Most of the heavy vehicles sink into the clay and mud.
