- Summary: Members of the King's Royal Hussars take part in border enforcement operations (on "Route Cormorant") during Operation Crimson Enforcer, a crackdown on hostile militias. Near Shalam Shah, Basra.
- Description: I. Members of C Squadron at briefing. Desert patrol: line of Warrior armoured vehicles in the desert. A tranche of unexploded enemy ordnance is stacked up (tank rounds); Warriors patrol the area. Long shot of the ordnance being exploded in a denial operation; cloud of smoke on horizon. II. Interview with officer Philip Gates, commanding C Squadron King's Royal Hussars, who discusses the find of the ordnance, assisted by a local man. (Any ordnance discovered will be destroyed by barmines or air-fired Hellfire missiles). III. Broken track on a Bulldog armoured vehicle is fixed. IV. Iraqi lorries are searched at the cross-liaison area; Iraqi men load tiles onto a truck. V. General views of tents and camouflaged buildings at the Forward Operating Base (FOB) near the border. Various items of unexploded enemy ordnance lies around. Interview with Petty Officer Diver Reilly, working with the "Junk Force" EOD (explosive disposal) teams, discussing his role in searching out the ordnance and destroying it. The latest tranche of discovered ordnance (mainly 155mm artillery rounds) is piled up by the EOD team and primed using PE4 and using bar mines. Long shot as it is detonated with a huge explosion. The EOD team go to inspect the crater caused by the explosion. VI. Warrior patrol. Vehicle checkpoint is set up on desert road: cars are stopped, and occupants and vehicles are searched. VII. Interview with Lieutenant Colonel Nick Orr, Commanding Officer of the King's Royal Hussars Battlegroup, at the FOB. He describes their role in preventing the smuggling of weapons and explosives from Iran. VIII. Lynx helicopter of the Army Air Corps lands and takes off (no sound). IX. Interview with Major Christopher McGregor, leader of D Squadron the King's Royal Hussars (some freeze-frames), followed by various shots of C Company activities: preparing armoured vehicles (silhouette shots), Merlin helicopter flying overhead, soldiers brewing up, sunset shots from a Bulldog vehicle on the move, Warriors. X. Outdoor morning briefing at the FOB (poor sound). XI. Troops at the cross-liaison area; Bulldog armoured vehicles. Iraqi check point. Close-up of a crater. Troops begin packing up the FOB. Views from Warrior turret and on board Merlin in flight.
