Summary: The actor Ewan McGregor visits British forces at Basra Air Station to present with a Pride of Britain Award to Staff Sergeant Michelle Cunningham, the only female bomb disposal officer in Iraq.
Description: I. (Shaky opening shots.) Ewan McGregor meets members of the 11 Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Regiment of the Royal Logistic Corps, watchting from a command vehicle as a wheelbarrow robot sets a charge is a "suspect" car which is then exploded. Ewan then tries on a bomb disposal suit and poses with soldiers. He is then shown displays of equipment.
II. Visit to the Dog Section; he watches an attack dog bringing down a "suspect" (who is wearing a padded armband), and then dons the armband himself.
III. At the Field Hospital at the Contingency Operating Base, he officially opens the Defence Medical Welfare Service tent, and chats with medical staff.
IV. Ewan McGregor meets members of 4th Battalion the Rifles, and inspects a sniper rifle. He poses for photographs.
V. Poor quality scenes inside moving Land Rover as he is taken to his next appointment.
VI. Ewan meets members of 2nd Battalion the Royal Welsh; he has a spin in a Challenger tank and tries various guns (including a baton gun) on the firing range, before riding in a Warrior armoured vehicle.
VII. Flight in an Army Air Corps Lynx.
VIII. Interview with Ewan McGregor outside the British Forces Broadcasting Service (BFBS) facility.
IX. Troops gather for the presentation of the Pride of Britain Award to Staff Sergeant Michelle Cunningham.. Ewan McGregor records a piece to camera (for screening at the Pride of Britain Awards ceremony), and presents the award to Staff Sergeant Cunningham, who is interviewed.
